Meet Lori, a former Tour Consultant and current Tour Project Manager, recently returned from teaching in Colombia. We are so happy to welcome Lori back to the Prometour family!

Tell us about yourself!

I grew up on the South Shore of Montreal. I did my bachelor`s degree at McGill University where I studied history and anthropology. I also have a certificate in teaching English as a foreign language from the University of Toronto. I love theatre, history, and travelling. I also have an affinity for furry four-legged creatures.

What are the top destinations you’ve visited and which was your favourite?

I like travelling to places that have a nice mix of natural landscapes and history, so Peru was definitely one of my favourites. Turkey was also beautiful and I liked experiencing a place with a culture so different from my own.

What was your most valuable travel experience?

I lived in Pasto, Colombia for two years as an English teacher. It was definitely a valuable experience because I got to really delve into a new culture and language and create life-long memories along the way.

What was the craziest thing that has ever happened to you while traveling?

I fell in love and got married.

What destinations are on your bucket list and why?

I would love to see the Great Wall of China as well as the wild animals of South Africa.

What is the most satisfying part of your job?

Problem solving with the support of a great team.

Which Prometour Tour would you travel on?

All of them.

What’s one thing you wish you could tell educators that want to plan a student trip?

Less can definitely be more. Sometimes it is hard to bask in the glory of a monument when you`re exhausted and pressed for time.

When did you first catch the travel bug?

I loved travelling to Vermont as a kid every summer, so the Green Mountain State definitely has a place in my heart. My first overseas trip however, was a combo trip to Italy and Turkey. After that I definitely caught the global travel bug.

What’s your favorite place in Québec/Montréal?

I am a sucker for old architecture so anywhere in Old Quebec and Old Montreal is my favourite.  I also love that we have four seasons because it offers something completely new to a familiar place.
