Thanksgiving - Expressing Gratitude

Written by Erin C | Nov 26, 2020 4:45:00 PM

For our American friends, thanksgiving celebrations are well on their way! Get-togethers might be a little smaller than usual this year while we maintain social distancing practices, but hopefully a tasty meal is still on the agenda.

For most of us, this has been a very challenging year with a global pandemic shaking up our way of life and affecting our families, businesses, and livelihoods. So it’s easy to lose sight of the people and things around us that we should still be grateful for while our minds shift to a place of negativity. That’s why this year, it’s more important than ever to express gratitude for the people and things in our lives that affect us positively, however seemingly small or insignificant.

We can all make a positive difference in one another’s daily life by showing appreciation with kind words and gestures. Have an encounter with a helpful server or grocery store clerk? Mention their name in a positive review. Do something small to make life easier for a friend or family member. If you have the means, make a donation to a local food bank or other organization working to provide for those who need it right now. Reach out to an old friend or colleague that you haven’t spoken with recently and let them know how they made a positive impact on your life. There are many ways we can all share a bit of positivity and gratitude. We should try and practice this always, and not only this Thanksgiving holiday.

In addition to feelings of gratitude during this weekend, we hope you enjoy a tasty dinner and time with loved ones and of course, a delicious slice of pumpkin pie!
